Delete your IoT Parrot data
IoT Parrot is published by Lurawood Labs LLC. IoT Parrot is in beta and is designed to keep your data local — capture files stay on your machine, not on a server we run. The steps below cover both the local data on your machine and the small amount of information we may hold on our side (beta signups, hardware orders, support correspondence).
Method 1 — delete your local captures
Capture files are stored on the computer running the IoT Parrot desktop app. To remove them:
- Open the IoT Parrot desktop app.
- Open the menu (top-left) → Captures.
- Select the captures you want to remove and click Delete, or choose Delete all captures to clear the library.
- To remove the app’s local database entirely, uninstall the app and
then delete the IoT Parrot data folder for your operating system:
- macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/IoTParrot - Windows:
%APPDATA%\IoTParrot - Linux:
~/.local/share/IoTParrot

These captures were never uploaded to us, so removing them locally is the deletion.
Method 2 — email request
If you signed up for the beta program, ordered hardware, or contacted support, we may hold a small amount of information tied to your email (your beta signup record, shipping address for a hardware order, or support thread). To request deletion, email support@iotparrot.com from the email address you used. Use the subject “Delete my data”. We will confirm and process your request within 30 days.
What is deleted on request
When we process an email deletion request, the following data is removed permanently:
- Your beta program signup record (email address, sign-up date)
- Your support correspondence history (message text and dates)
- Any account preferences synced to our servers, if a future release introduces account sync
What is retained
- Shipping and order records for hardware purchases are retained as required by accounting, tax, and consumer-protection regulations. After deletion these records are no longer linked to your account contact, but the order itself remains on file.
- Support request records are retained for up to 12 months for support and abuse-prevention purposes before being deleted automatically.
- For up to 30 days after deletion, your data may continue to exist in encrypted server backups before being permanently purged.
